The highlight of the day for almost every dog is a walk. Come rain or shine no able-bodied, self respecting dog can resist the chance of an outing!
All dogs are walked individually - unless from the same household - so they receive undivided attention and can proceed at their own pace. For the safety of the dog and the general public, dogs are never pack walked.
We cater for dogs that require regular daily walks (Monday - Friday), as well as specific days or occasional walks. Every effort is made to schedule walks as close to a requested time of day as possible depending on demand. Weekend walks by negotiation.
Please contact Sit 'n' Stay for rates and availablity.
As much as we hate to be parted from our dogs, there are times when it is simply unavoidable. Like a foreign holiday, business trip away or maybe even a spell in hospital. While boarding kennels suit some dogs, just as many find them a stressful and unsettling experience. That's when home boarding comes to the rescue, providing a tranquil environment and all of the company and comforts your dog could wish for.
From a one-night stop-over to a week or more (the longest time a dog has stayed is 2 months!), your dog will live as part of the family with a routine as closely followed as possible to the one they are used to at home.
You provide their food, bedding and favourite toys so there's always something familiar and reassuring for them that reminds them of home.
Up-to-date vaccination certificates are a pre-requisite of bookings being accepted, and a deposit will be taken to secure bookings of any duration. You are invited - indeed encouraged - to visit my home with your dog(s) to inspect the facilities prior to making a first-time booking. This will also enable you and your dog(s) to meet my own. Harry and Bonnie (pictured) act as 'mine host' to all canine guests.
If you are concerned that your dog may be fretful or not settle well into a strange environment I would recommend a trial overnight stay. I also ask that you advise me of any possible behavoural traits, medical conditions or special requirements at the time of booking. I will also need an emergency telephone contact number and the details of your vet to be held on file.
Please note that the rate you will be quoted when making an enquiry or booking are per day. Drop-off and pick-up times are flexible (within reason) so as to best suit your travel arrangements or schedule.
Home Visits for Cats and Small Pets
Cats are creatures of habit. They prefer their own familiar surroundings and their independent nature does not always bode well for being confined to a cattery pen - however spacious and well appointed it might be. Frankly, they much prefer to be at home. Just so long as there's someone on hand to serve up regular meals and provide a spot of TLC.
Sit 'n' Stay provide regular house visits throughout the Caerphilly and north Cardiff area for cats and other small domestic pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, aquarium and pond fish, birds, chickens, ducks etc, for feeding, cleaning out and general checks on welfare.
I am also happy to administer insulin injections to diabetic cats.
Bookings for home visits will require an emergency contact number and details of your vet to provided at the time of booking.
The number and frequency of visits will be as required by yourself, and I can also use each visit to ensure there are no obvious signs of your absence such as mail protrudung from the letterbox, as well as drawing curtains and turning on a light. This is all a part of the home visiting sevice at no additional cost.
It is also sometimes possible to provide a live-in service providing overnight companionship for dogs that would not easily adjust to home boarding or kennels. All enquiries welcome.
